Toluene

Toluene is an aromatic hydrocarbon and is a colorless, water-insoluble liquid. The smell of the compound is associated with paint thinners. It has a CH3 group attached to a phenyl group and is a mono-substituted benzene derivative. Toluene is used as an industrial feedstock and a solvent in paint thinner, contact cement and model airplane glue. Toluene can also be used as a recreational inhalant with a potential of causing severe neurological harm.
